Stellar’s Star Show

My time at Give Kids The World Village was one of adaptation and re-construction as the organization bounced back from pandemic-related closure and record-low occupancy made way for record-high occupancy in the span of a few months.

I was tasked with implementing Entertainment’s first major project: the revival of the Village’s much-beloved weekly talent show. Now renamed Stellar’s Star Show to tie in the organization’s original character Stellar the Star Fairy, the show moved back to its former theatre venue, but was re-imagined from the ground up.

I worked closely with the IT department to create a user-friendly tech booth that was powerful enough to produce dynamic theatric vignettes in real time, but simple enough to be operated by members of my team who may not have any theatre experience - and could be packed away each night.

A new pre-show was developed with engaging games and opening acts crafted around the unique talents of my team. Meanwhile, children signed up to perform through a new tech-forward approach that auto-populated a digital set list for the event host and tech and could be modified in real time. Finally, the evening concluded with an award ceremony and an after-party family trivia event.
